Als Ethnologe und Kulturanthropologe bin ich fasziniert vom Verhalten der Menschen und habe gelernt, ihre Interaktion und Kommunikation einzuordnen und zu analysieren. Als Ethnografischer Filmemacher habe ich die Möglichkeit mein akademisches Toolkit mit dem praktischen Handwerk des Dokumentarfilms zu ergänzen, um die Theorie mithilfe unterschiedlicher audiovisueller Methoden in Bilder und Geschichten zu verwandeln.

Im kleinen Team sind wir in der Lage flexibel auf alle Eventualitäten beim Dreh zu reagieren und vor allem durch eine unscheinbare Präsenz wenig Aufsehen zu erregen. Auf diese Weise ermöglichen wir unseren Protagonist:innen größtmögliche Freiheit und dem Film die nötige Authentizität.

As an ethnologist and cultural anthropologist, I am fascinated by the behavior of people and have learned to classify and analyze their interaction and communication. As an ethnographic filmmaker I am able to complement my academic toolkit with the practical craft of documentary filmmaking to transform theory into images and stories using different audiovisual methods in the field.

Working in a small team we are able to quickly adapt to all eventualities during the shoot and, above all, to attract as little attention as possible by an inconspicuous presence. In this way we give our protagonists the freedom they need and the film the necessary authenticity.
